What Impact Does a Lack of Sleep Have?
Watch the video to explore the impacts that a lack of sleep can have on your physical and mental wellbeing.
In this video, we explore some of the benefits of being a personable and real leader and how this can impact staff wellbeing . . .
What are the benefits to being seen as personable, approachable, and authentic by your staff?
First, it lets you get to know those you lead.
Spending quality time with your staff allows you to uncover their key competencies and traits that can't be seen through reports or tasks. Learning details about their personality, motivations, communication and working styles and more helps you lead and support them better.
Next, it helps build trusting relationships.
It may sound obvious, but getting to know your staff on a personal level can go a long way towards creating a trusting relationship with them. When you ask about things not related to their work like family life, interests, hobbies, it tells them that you are interested in them as a person, and not just as an employee of the school.
Lastly, it lets you communicate better with your staff.
Have you ever been left scratching your head over a text's intended tone? Body language and facial expressions can make all the difference when communicating with employees. Talking with them in person lets you observe these so you can better interpret their thoughts and feelings. You can also show through your own words and actions that you are actively listening to them.
