We all know relaxation is important, but how exactly can you manage to relax given the pressures most school staff are under? Here are our top 5 tips.
1.. Find out what relaxes you and do more of it!
For example, some people prefer self-care activities like get a massage or get their hair done while others like relaxation techniques such as guided imagery, deep breathing, and mindfulness.
2. Then schedule relaxation time.
Just as you would schedule time for exercise or work, schedule time for relaxation. This could involve setting aside 10-15 minutes each day to practise relaxation techniques or even scheduling your annual leave.
3. Find a quiet and comfortable space.
It can be hard to relax if the world is chaotic around you. Try to find a space where you can relax and practise your chosen relaxation technique or activity.
4. Experiment with different techniques and activities.
Everyone has different preferences when it comes to relaxation. Try different activities until you find one that works for you.
5. Incorporate relaxation into your day.
Look for opportunities to incorporate relaxation into your daily routine, such as taking a few deep breaths during a break or doing a short meditation before bed.
