The total length of this self-paced interactive course is approximately 45 minutes but can be taken at your own pace in as many sessions as you like.  
Empathy is a critical skill that every member of school staff can benefit from developing. This course is designed to provide all school staff, including teachers and support staff, with practical strategies to develop empathy and enhance their interpersonal skills. By taking this course, you'll learn how to listen actively, understand others' perspectives, and effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents. You'll also learn how to identify and manage your own emotions, which will help you to be more empathetic and supportive towards others. With enhanced empathy skills, you'll be better equipped to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, and create a more positive and supportive school culture. Following this interactive training you will be able to:

  • Explain empathy and why it is important as a leadership skill
  • Describe the specific benefits of of empathetic relationships
  • Understand techniques you can follow and actions you can take to develop empathy with others, including those you lead.
